I am considering to start mining with some friends. Is anyone of you mining already? Do you think is it a good idea to jump into this? Our Electricity price is about 17c and we are able to get about 40 3060ti at the retail price.

Linzhi Pheonix and next gen ETH asics are gonna push your shit in anon. Just buy your shitcoins like a good little autist.

It was 4 years ago, now with ETH mining ending soon it's over

I live near a favela and could rent a house with stolen electricity, but alll I can afford is Dual-Core computers, but no GPUs.
Is there anyway to get a profit mining with these old computers? No cost with electricity tho.

unfortunately this will not be even remotely profitable split between you and your friends. Someone that did this exact thing years ago, this WILL ruin your friendship. Mark my words. Never go into business with family or friends.

Unfortunately no, the suppliers are working with GPUs.

I wouldn't want to spend monies on overpriced asics during the ath market. The wise strategy will be investing steadily in shitcoins that will do 5x and higher, after taking profits moving funds to stable assets and wait for the bear market, looking for connections with suppliers and knowledgeable people.
But if you really want to, you are free to do so.

Monero is considered berry gut, especially if you have containers full of scrap gpus and cpus. In my possibilities it is to create a monero gigafarm. However the maintenance costs will be tricky to keep low. But what I'm talking about, just replace broken crap with still usable crap.

In my own opinion:
6 months
>BTC: risky, do not invest in miners, if the drop in price occurs, huge loss will happen
>ETH:
Rollout of ETH 2.0 will not eliminate mining, but the impact of event will probably result in a moderate loss, if we are talking about the purchase of said ETH asics
>LTC:
Pretty moderate bet with modest returns.
>XMR
Still some potential in the pockets, not so overhyped. Probably the best bet.

But please anon, dyor. For your own good. My views may be biased and I don't want to ruin your finances via this message posted on Vietnamese basket weaving forum.

In my view, does it really matter if the price of btc goes down in the short term if it goes up in the long term?
With mining its not like you are mining dollars, you still have the same amount of btc regardless of the price

No one cares that your pump and dump was profitable for a few months. PoW is a race to the bottom where only the extreme min/maxers will be able to profit. Everyone else will be undercut. The people with the cheapest electricity + coldest weather + best internet are going to be on a similar place and the coin will become centralised. All PoW coins will become centralised in the end.

I've been mining since 2013 and got out last year.
I personally wouldn't get in right now since there is a huge demand for gpus still.
Once the hype dies down and people get REKt and have to sell their gpus, thats when you buy their old equiptment and get in.
