If you can code in javascript what's the problem?

I've coded in Haskell and understand that some people won't be able to pick it up, but if JS is covered then that's everyone else anyway.

whole point of coding in haskell was to make it robust, less likely to fail, less likely to be attacked, etc. but you dont need haskell to develop dapps or smart contracts on ada, most main languages will be supported.

There are no CS/IT fag ADA holders, anon. They have no clue what you (or Charles for that matter) are talking about. That shit should have been clear from the beginning. No "eth killer" hodlers are aware of the tech, it's an oxymoron. They all just believe they will get rich by betting on the lower valued competitor.

Seems to be working out fine for them atm, with ETH dropping the ball like this. Congrats on this, seriously.

here is a look at blockly graphical user interface-based hasskell smart contracts. it falls under the Marlowe DSL. The Marlowe DSL is a aimed at finance. The blockly version enables finance domain experts to create formally verified smart contracts even though they have zero coding experience.

If they added support for Haskell thats fine. i was under the impression that their main smart contract language (like Eth's solidity and Dot's Substrate) was in Haskell. Didn't know that they have lots of other language support.

that is explicitly for people with expertise in writing contracts in finance but no coding experience. It's one user group that is targeted. those contracts are formally verified and secure by the way. Professional developers are not expected to use blockly on Cardano. But now real-world people with decades of experience writing contracts in the finance arena can make formally verified smart contracts for finance. It's a game changer for that group and there's more of those people in one US state than there are solidity developers worldwide.

this has been a trend in the last couple of years, the demand for competent programmers keeps rising, universities can't keep up with the demand, can't pump out new programmers fast enough. Visual programming is the solution. you take complex programming subjects and simplify them into logic blocks, to be used by anyone with half a brain. see outSystems for example.

is it harder than Solidity? yea, it's a functional programming language, not what most of us are used to

yeah, Solidity is garbage.
want to write code that'll behave in ways you didn't expect it to so people can exploit your new protocol and steal users' funds in your treasury/vault? well then, Solidity is the perfect language
all jokes aside, this guy is probably just a copy paste developer and the realization that he'll have to learn something past the basics is scary to him. nothing to hate on him for imo.
