What is C-OP
>Collateral Optimization (C-OP) — an American-styled put option that protects against inefficient collateralization.
The Problem of Over Collateralization
>DeFi’s composable nature unlocks collateral in a way that is not characteristic of Traditional Finance (TradFi).

How Does C-OP Work?
At a high level, C-OP enables lending platforms to optimize capital efficiency via options. Specifically, we use American-style Put options priced via a binomial model as our base instrument.
The use of derivatives, including options, to reduce risk in portfolios and enhance capital liquidity in the form of lowering margin requirements, has been long practiced in TradFi. With the maturation of DeFi lending and appearances of derivatives in DeFi, this is a perfect time for DeFi to leverage the financial methods of TradFi.

An Example: Rather than putting up 150 percent collateral for an ETH position on Compound, You can use C-OP to put up 125 percent collateral. The remaining 25 percent covered by C-OP is the cost of a put option. The risk profile for the lending protocol in both cases is the same (assuming efficient markets). Should the ETH price spiral downwards, the lending platform exercises the option on the collateral, creating the same risk profile as if 150 percent OC was initially deposited.

SO with C-OP
>Price gaps up C-OP is triggered and you have more borrowing power
>Price gaps down C-OP is triggered and your risk of losing your money is reduced
C-OP has non-linear cost savings to liquidations: the bigger the gap down in asset price, the more the C-OP saves the borrower.

CDO
What Is a Collateralized Debt Obligation (CDO)?
>A collateralized debt obligation (CDO) is a complex structured finance product that is backed by a pool of loans and other assets and sold to institutional investors. A CDO is a particular type of derivative because, as its name implies, its value is derived from another underlying asset. These assets become the collateral if the loan defaults.

Collateralized debt obligations (CDOs) will greatly increase the lending capacity of the maturing DeFi space and create opportunities for purchasers to earn active yield.
UNION’s expertise in valuing and offering protection for protocol risk, strong TradFi pedigree and use of TradFi financial models, and liquidity sourcing framework is uniquely positioned to partner with CDO issuers.
By leveraging products already in our roadmap and our role in offering protection, UNION will play an important role in the evolution of CDOs in DeFi.

Collateral optimization, less risk, more confidence for institutions to invest in DeFi through UNN, or some shit like that

Attention anyone reading: do not buy this shitcoin. Why is it a shitcoin might you ask? Entirely because the team is incompetent. Firstly, you might not know this but UNN actually attempted a private sale but failed at launching it 4 times consecutively. The team are so bad at their job they couldn't even launch an ICO after trying to, and rescheduling it over and over before giving up. Lead dev also has been involved in previous projects which were hacked with loss of funds. And finally, the telegram channel is full of spelling errors, unprofessional admins and an altogether bad environment that you wouldn't expect from a team going after a serious idea like this. The idea is good ngl but this team is, in my opinion, not the one to bet on. If you want to know what I'm personally invested in instead of this shitcoin then I fully recommend YLD instead. final point: notice that op only focused on the idea and concept behind UNN, not the actual team or token itself. other professional teams will solve this problem, not UNN. leaving thread now as i don't care much about this token i just don't want anons to get lied to by shills.

ocr makes link 10x cheaper to run and therefore the network can accommodate 10x the activity even without the further expansion that’s coming, it’s bullish for link and defi in general
