That's what I do, but I like mercs best because they are old and look old so they look like something anybody might have a little bit of laying around. You won't necessarily seem like you're a silver stacker if you pay using those, whereas .999 fine silver might draw more attention. You can also supplement payments in .999 with "junk" silver to achieve that end too.
