unironically BTC will never and can never be used for serious applications. If you want a crypto currency that can do whatever you imagine you'll have to wait for Eth 2.0 or hope that an Eth killer actually makes it big.

It's still an evolving market, which is why people think bitcoin is such a good investment. They think the exponential growth of btc can be sustained, but what they don't see is that there is only so much volume that can be pushed onto btc. The price will be driven up, and personally I believe by 2025 it'll be worth at least 300k, but it doesn't it has to grow forever.
