Holding link is like having a normal life, plans and dreams then suddenly waking up in a mental asylum. There's 50 million dollars in a locker with your name on it, in a room full of lockers for all of the patients. The door has a sign saying 'Will unlock in illegible days.' You talk to the other patients, the wardens. Everyone tells you the sign says something different. Some people say the room will never unlock, that the money is fake, that the wardens already took the money. Some say the room doesn't even exist. You talk with another patient who agrees the room exists, but halfway through the conversation he pulls down his pants and runs in circles shitting and crying for chicken tendies. You find out that you can leave at any time, but that if you do you might not ever be able to come back. So you stay, questioning your sanity more and more with each passing day. Was I crazy before I came here? Is the man screaming in the corner that it's all a lie, even though he's still here, right or insane?

I simply don't care at this point, feeling jaded af.

I've stopped caring when shit like BNB, ADA etc. mooned and LINK barely past ath. This is a clown market and every brain cell I spend on this shit is a waste. I'll just hold my 11k stack and hope for the best. I've literally bought at 11 cents so I can't really lose at this point. If it moons good, if not nothing in my life really changes. If you ever want to feel better (or worse?) about our situation check the transaction chart on Binance for LINKUP/LINKDOWN.

Whales are actively suppressing the market and taking advantage of favorable BTC rates to recoup their holdings after retail managed to pump the price into the mid 30’s. Have seen 2k+ LINK sell offers by whales buying into these leverage assets only to get bent over backwards by separate groups. Once retail puts in enough pressure we’ll see one final dip down ($16-18 scam wick) so whales can consolidate their holeings via stop loss orders or we’ll start moonng back to mid 30’s.

It’s interesting because OG’s here FUD link because the price in the short term doesn’t mean anything to them and they’re beyond jaded.. but newfags use the board as a determiner of what to purchase. Without newfag buying pressure it’s literally just whales trading with other whales while market movers wait to strike in either direction. Fascinating albeit not amazing for the price action in the short term

>Whale Groups 1, 2, and 3 + smol whales
>Whale Group 1 is a group of market movers
>Whale Group 1 began aggressively dumping at $36 (2-5k sell orders at key wick indicators) down to $27
>Whale Group 2 has leveraged longs at $12-20
>Whale 1 wants to drop us down to $16-20 to trigger stop losses set around $25 and also cause whale group 2 + 3 to get liquidated before allowing for new price discovery, and likely wants to set longs at the self-imposed floor
>Whale groups 2 and 3 are propping up the price at $23-27 to prevent having to close their longs (which would tank the price via scam wick before being bought up again)
>Whale group 1 is buying LINKDOWN to make profit on price suppression even if it doesn’t go all the way down to $16-20
>10m LINKDOWN’s + $1 decrease in price = $400k to $1.6m profit at a 1.5-4x built in leverage (Binance)
>EVERY TIME Group 1 buys 500k+ LINKDOWN’s Groups 2 + 3 are actively pumping up the price .25 -> .50 causing group 1 to bleed $75k->$250k
>Group 1 needs to keep buying LINKDOWN’s in order to recoup the lost profit and simultaneously sell MOAR link in order to suppress the price of the ticker (LINK) LINKDOWN is correlated with
>Whale group 2 and 3 are simply buying up the LINK group 1 is selling in order to punish them for shorting the asset
All the while Group 1 is increasingly running out of liquidity to work with in order to suppress the price, which is why we may see a scam wick (flash crash for a short period of time to trigger liquidations + stop losses) so Whale Group 1 can recoup as much of their burned (shorted) link as possible since group 2 + 3 are buying everything up and retail investors are firmly holding.
>tl;dr: retail not panic selling is preventing whales from dumping the price immensely and whale groups are infighting to remove one another from the market by buying up liquidity being sold on exchanges, less liquidity = less LINK to suppress the price with

Sorry if this is long winded but it was a stream of consciousness post without formatting.

Basically, one market mover has been offloading considerable amounts of LINK to suppress the price while taking out leveraged shorts, but other groups who want the price to go up have been buying up the liquidity while retail is temporarily between paychecks (most newbies are a little burnt out atm). At the end of the day one of these whale groups will have to “give” and LINK will dump followed by an immediate rise back to $28-30+, and one of the groups will be left having lost a large portion of their stack as a result.

Check’d and based. It’s a dog and pony that much is for sure. If you’re interested look into the 1.5-4x leverage system binance has under the tickets “LINKDOWN” and “LINKUP”.

Basically one whale group is selling at a discount compared to where we should be trying to tank the price and a second and third whale groups (seems to be different time zones) are saying “alright sell as much as you’re willing bitch I’ll buy it all day”. Even more so if anons dollar cost average. The price can only be suppressed for so long and once enough liquidity is bought up by another whale groups (or ideally retail investors who refuse to sell) we’ll moon.

But since multiple groups are fighting to keep the price low / high there’s been insane market movement at all hours of the day this last week and a half. Stayed up for 8 hours last night just watching people try and move the chart in their favor. I threw a bone to some newfags and redditors browsing this board last week and made a thread that for 300+ replies were I pretended to be a newfag just discovering link and went over the implications of the network once OCR is released and price feeds grow/external adapters from insurance protocols, and how it will be the most profitable network to stake on etc.

Anyhow I can only do that shit so much because it’s so tiresome. People still don’t get it and even then another newfag comes along the next day asking questions.

They had 3 years. If you don’t get it now you never will.

I don't get it, even if you baghold Link you get 5% APR on it on NEXO and similar sites and, that's assuming real staking never comes.. Even if LINK never moons at stays around 20-30 dollars for all eternity, this is still a nice passive income for every OG linkMarine. At this point it's probably unlikely it'll crash and lose 90% of value like some scamcoins.

I went all in on link, and even if nothing comes of it, no staking or serious adoption, and the memes turn out to be just memes, it's still a nice money on the side. FUD is $60-100 with consolidation periods in between like we’re seeing now
The dream is $220-250 with a fat 60% correction come January but we’ll need to see a mass influx of retail investors for that to happen. I don’t think it’s plausible for this market cycle but it’s up to us to manifest such a reality.

You’ll make it, but 4K LINK can lead generational wealth if push comes to shove. Careful selling too much all at once, staking alone will give you enough to live off of in a not-so-distant future.

Not a financial advisor fren but if you’re working try and stock up on that end so you can supplement some of the money you’d have made selling link there.

The thing most wont tell you is as you’ve obtained “life changing” or “life-altering” money and were able to cover your tax obligations you’re coming out ahead of most. LINK is unique because most of us believe in the long term success of the project and by proxy the price eventually reaching the moon. Without cashing out there is no guarantees on seeing gains — therefore cashing out is something everyone will have a separate price point in mind for.
>If I were in your situation I’d try and get a few side hustles between classes and use that money to offset the amount of LINK I’d need to sell
>cashing out a % of your portfolio for a flat is a great endeavor as compared to a sports car, drug habit, etc
Either way you’re storing value and thinking long term. Don’t stress out too much on the details but good on you for thinking ahead instead of having to make a split second decision when the time comes.

anon, look into current staking options. 1000 link (plus $500 ETH to stake and some patience to get into the link pool) gets you ~1 BNT a day on Bancor. Not trying to be a Bancor shill, just highlighting one play.

that's 1.8k a year you can restake on Bancor, or sell to fund shitcoin gambling expenses as a means to increase your stack size.

with OCR rolling out, it's going to make it much easier to get in and out of staking contracts with your chainlink.

chainlink is the highway to freedom, and defi is currently pouring the asphalt and paving that highway.

Maybe normal circumstances but look at links history to see how this isn’t the same level of euphoria and pain for many for example. But also after pumping to $1 after mainnet it went down to 65 cents, then to $2, then we went down to like $1.3 if I remember right which is about -35%. then pumped to $5 right after that before blowing off for awhile. Most recently we pumped from 1.5 to 5, dumped, then pumped to 9, dumped to 6, then pumped to 20 before dumping to 7.5 (blow off top). Now, we pumped 8 to 25, dumped 30%, then 25 to 36, dumped again 35%. I’m pretty tired right now so not sure if what I’m typing is coherent but basically what I’m saying is we did pump but not enough that you would consider a blow off top by any of links past behavior cycles. I do think there’s one more mini cycle before we consolidate for a few months before starting another cycle again. The time between cycles keeps shortening which leads to a more parabolic looking chart on a macro time scale

There are corporate announcement posts referencing ChainLink that seems to also be from 2016, but you can't access it publically:

Yeah noticed that too and was reading all the places it was referenced. At first I was thinking maybe it could be some weird webtag or react kind of object. Idk it might just be a funny coincidence and have nothing to do with ChainLink

> ChainLink bridges different systems, centralizes shipping functionality, integrates shipping processes, and improves shipping management through timely, accurate shipping data. It enables employees to ship from their desktops with a browser-based shipping system. Now internal areas such as customer service and order entry can access accurate shipping information directly from the Internet or Intranet.
> ChainLink provides access to the following logistics functionality: Rating, Shipping, Shipment status inquiries, Carrier delivery commitments, Carrier-compliant labels and documentation, Manifest data and carrier uploads, Complete Shipping Integration
