Guys I'm thinking this market HAS to collapse. The reason is that Tesla has to collapse at some point. The reason it's going up is because funny green line go up. But that increases the market cap, meaning that for any stock growth, more and more money is necessary.

I think we reached the point where Tesla is so bloated that it can barely grow anymore. But as it has no earnings, there is no psychological idea of where the bottom might be. Therefore, everyone who made a profit only has the certainty that they'll make a profit if they sell when it starts going down.

The problem is that if Tesla goes it drags down tech. But the market is so leveraged right now, that this will evaporate a lot of portfolios, dragging down even more stocks. As everything is bloated right now, no position will be seen as safe to park your money, so more and more people will move to the sidelines.

So I say that we're going to an irrationally low market because of all this bloat that is going to drag it all down.

Sell ITM if you're bearish, OTM if you're bullish. Sell calls on big green days, buy them back on red days or after they've lost a certain % of their value (decide that for yourself). You can honestly just keep rolling for the rest of time unless the person you sold to decides to exercise which most of the time isn't likely. Whenever I roll, I roll to the same strike at a further expiry, so that even though you're possibly buying back the call at a loss, you're still making money because the call at a further expiry will be worth more. You can use the premium from the call sold to do a spread if you so choose to which limits your losses if PLTR were to have a big hulking green dildo one day randomly.

Advantage is you get a breakeven well below the market price when you open the spread, and your short leg is also in the money, so if the underlying doesn't drop more than some percentage you get your max payout (with ~.9 and ~.7 delta strikes that can be like ~30% in a month even if the underlying drops 8%). Your breakeven ends up being like 12.5% below the current market price and you lose everything at like 20% below (depending on the volatility of the underlying).

It's a very different kind of play than just writing covered calls. Statistically you usually win but it's vulnerable to black swan events and yesterday's drop in nasdaq was the worst drop since like September. I have like 15 other positions that even after yesterday's drop still have underlyings above my short leg strike and will print even if everything crabs from here on out. PTON was just screwed even before that though.

Yes it benefits greatly from short term volatility and high vega/IV scenarios because I end up writing calls at max pain areas more frequently that tend to have higher IV than the more deep in the money calls and they can get crushed very early on. This vega difference can make you money too, along with the theta difference.
