>commuted to college instead of dorming
>picked cheap state school over dream school
>always declined nights out partying with friends and dinners out
>got a safe, boring, well paying finance job

I've learned my lesson, God. Just wake me up from this bad dream now.

I don't understand these threads. How can you have 7 figures and be depressed. the world is now your oyster, and you just can't exploit it? Some people would literally kill or commit high treason to be in your shoes.

Seriously if you can't use your 7 figures just send them to me and make someone else happy.

I think it's more like he was so single minded about success and "making it" that he abstained from maintaining healthy relationships with friends and potential partners just so he could stack dosh. It alienated him and he woke up one day and realized he gets no do overs and that youth is fleeting. This is one thing the boomers were right about, get fucked up in your youth, have a good time for a couple of years but don't let it consume you and make something of yourself eventually. Success doesn't need to be realized before 22.

I try not to dwell on the past. To be honest, I was a spastic back then and going straight and narrow helped un-tizm' me.

My biggest issue is how barren the future looks. Even after quarantine ends, I just don't see our world going back to its old self any time soon. By the time things are back to normal, I'll no longer be a young man who can be reckless and impulsive with his newfound wealth.

If relationships are the problem why not invest time and effort into friends, or getting to know people? I was a depressed loner for most of my youth, you know, the kind of person you'd always suspect would shoot up the school. Eventually I just learned to open up a bit and trust people in my mid 20s. I still have issues but I have friends, and lots of good times with them. It is never too late, and everything just seems insurmountable. It is the same yada yada everyone says but it is true. The trick is just to continuously see yourself as 'work in progress' and take risks in order to better oneself.

I have to admit, environment and trustworthy people were also big factor in order for me to make it in that respect. I took my time with my studies and always had flatmates who would bring me to parties and slowly I just managed to start and trust people.

I also don't understand why people who 'make it' and get depressed still care about their portfolio and spend time on /biz/. If it is making you hollow why not just get out. Use the gains to be a somewhat free man in capitalistic society this is the only reason I wish to make it. waging is just getting time stolen from me.

I've been on /biz/ for years, my portfolio began here. There are likely more millionaires on this board than any other on 4chan, so aside from being financially-related, it seemed like the place where I'd find the most connection on this.

Also, I'm currently sitting at high six figures after the shits the market have been taking, but at ATH of BTC, I left the six figure zone and the excitement wore off in seconds.

>>29749326
Maybe it is a personal mindset thing. I find those mid-30s and 40s partying types to be kinda pathetic and reeking of insecurity. Types like Dan Blizerian. I think I feel a longing for missing out on that ignorance, immaturity, and recklessness of youth. It's not the same when you're older, and that's obvious to everyone.

I would want to put that money towards growing a family, taking care of my parents, and living a free life. I mostly worry about the dogshit post-covid world my children will grow up in, and the hollow, internet-based existence we are moving towards. It makes 'making it' all the less sweet I guess.

At 30, your hangovers begin to last several days.
At 40 and 50, your dick stops working properly. For a 25 year old man, the refractory period, between cumming and wanting to fuck again, is between 5-20 minutes. For a 50 year old, it's 5-10 days.

It really isn't. The body starts disintegrating really quickly when a man reaches 30. People speak of women "hitting the wall" - they lose their youthful beauty. The same happens for men, but with the functionality of their bodies and not their looks.

The amount of men at +30 who get some ridiculous, persistent injury from just doing day-to-day shit is astounding, because their bodies just quit.

Oh, and by the way, if you want kids, get them fast. Old man jizz causes autism.

At 21 years old I was conservative, risk averse, thinking too much about the future and how impulsive actions I would take would impact my life down the road. These are all features more common to a middle aged man than someone 18-21. It certainly left me alienated from many of my peers at that age.

I've learned to lighten up a bit since then, but there's obviously still no way to change my brain back into that of a 21 year old. Me trying to larp as one, which is the 40 year old mid-life crisis cope, would just be pathetic.
