Because there's a lot of dumb people out there. Bitcoin is not the same because it's speculative, it's a currency for some, it's a hedge for some, it's the new gold for some, etc etc, and if there's buyers up there then that pretty much justifies its price.. as stupid as it sounds. But for a public company like GME that is suppose to sell products and prove it through earnings, it's just a straight up pump and dump. The people trying to justify it are people that are currently sitting on a trade and wants to at least sell for breakeven since they bought at/near the top

No it can't, you can't compare the US market to for example what happened to Japan when Nikkei tanked. If the american market tumbles it will bring everyone down with it, the american market makes up over 50% of the total market cap, it's vastly integrated into the way things functions in society(economy), etc etc. Just read up on the 2008 financial crisis and what would have happened if the government didn't step in to bail everyone out and flood the market with cash, if the US stock market tumbles everything does.

I held it for a couple hours today and switched to TQQQ before closing because GME dumped and I thought that that was a good sign. Was hoping people sre going to buy some tasty dips tomorrow. But I just wouldn’t know what to buy right now. I don’t even want to buy TSM at this point

Anxiety anon here.
I found the solution. I made a nice excel table about my holdings and hedges, with some correlation measures, and calculated how much I could win or lose if today's a -10% or +10% day.
It turned out that due to the way my portfolio is structured, I can only go up from here (unless we get like 5 stable crab days and TSLA gets IV crushed as fuck).

I can actually feel my stress levels dissipating away. So anyone looking for a way to deal with this bear market is twofold:
- actually hedge your positions
- make a nice excel sheet about it detailing various scenarios
