Completely agree anon, I read about both products and decided to go with DOT for my one coin long term, put my ledger in storage portfolio, but Jesus it is not going to get any kind of adoption the way it is now. I sold at $38 and exchanged everything for ALGO. The auto staking is infinitely easier than having to research which pools to nominate in. I can see DOT and ALGO both making it though, as both are definitely better than ETH. But I think ALGO is much better suited forass and institutional adoption, plus its market cap is more than 10x smaller so way more room to grow.
