Who gives an actual fuck about crypto art /NFTs?

I feel this whole exercise is on the level of retardation as, at worst, people collecting funko pops and, at best, flipping and storing wealth in "art" for tax purposes

The crypto art thing is foundationally bankrupt because you are selling a thing that CAN be infinitely and freely copied with exact precision, unlike a physical artwork which is worth more for being a physical artifact produced by the artist's hand than the picture itself, which can be printed.
It's also unlike bitcoin as the only thing that can't be copied is the NFT itself, which essentially only CLAIMS to be a sort of certificate of ownership over some jpg, when really it's just a number
And if we extrapolate that, the jpg itself is also just a number, but it's already public and everyone knows it, it'd be like issuing a token for a bitcoin in a particular address, and then giving away that address readily (except in the case of digital art you can "double-spend" them [share and copy] as much as you want, rendering them WORTHLESS)

I could maybe see it if people sold secret full resolution images on the blockchain that you could effectively keep ownership of, with only previews of them in the auction, but then really how do you truly know what you're buying? It's just tulips at that point

What is it going to take for artists to realize their jobs are not actually worth anything and people would do their jobs for free with or without them?
For 1000s of years artists didn't get paid shit unless they were commissioned, let's go back to that
