yeah the Kybalion (despite claiming old age and authority) was actually written pretty recently, iirc in the 1800s or early 1900s, by some French guys who were claiming to be Templars or Rosicrucians or Atlanteans. It belongs to a "religion" called Theosophy, and a lot of the material produced by people who follow that tradition has that same tone of "this is what you MUST believe" and "this is the TRUTH" (but when you really get down to it, there's not much substance)

desu the Kybalion isn't super great, I think it's mostly useful as when you are starting out learning about spirituality/esoteric stuff. which is not to say there aren't valuable things within it.

i think that's the best possible attitude to hold- not being fixed on any one idea or philosophy, but willing to entertain anything and judge it based on its own merit.

here's one of my favorite books in the occult-new age-esoteric genre- it's a sort of memoir, written as a fictional journey, describing a guy's studies in the occult. it talks about the tarot, hermetic alchemy stuff, astrology, symbolism- it's a fun read and a lot of knowledge is in there as well.

If you like fiction, I really recommend "Foucault's Pendulum" and "the Name of the Rose" by Umberto Eco. Foucault's Pendulum is more directly conspiracy-related, but they both have a lot of interesting stuff in them, and are also just really fun to read.

it sounds like you are more advanced than i am! i never got the hang of the LBRP or any of Regardie's rites, and have had no training in Solomonic ritual magic whatsoever. my experience is more in the Chaos magic tradition of making my own rituals, which sounds like a cop-out because it is...i think i'm just too lazy to study.

when I do a ritual, it usually goes like this:
a) light incense or palo santo and say the Lord's prayer, and declare an intention ("today i'm praying for guidance/protection/courage/...")

often that's as far as it goes, but if I want to send more energy towards the intention, I'll take my wand (an old tent pole with copper wire wrapped around it and a crystal in the end) and draw a circle on the ground with it, then face in each of the four cardinal directions and call out to each of the 4 archangels- Michael Gabriel Raphael Uriel,

or just make supplications to each of the four directions, then the ground (Earth) and the sky, as well as the final direction, the center/within, which to me symbolizes the life force/spark of divinity

the next step depends on what i'm trying to accomplish- for example, if i'm doing the spell for protection, i'll use my wand to trace out a container above, below and around me, then visualize that being filled by glowing golden light

or if i'm trying to accomplish a certain task I'll call on the appropriate angel/archetype to assist me in that task-

I also work with sigils, so i'll draw a little pictogram representing something i want to accomplish and then visualize it

then, to end, i usually do a quick banishing/closure where i basically rewind the invocation i did at the beginning.

how about you? it sounds like you have a more formal approach than i do, and I'd love to learn more about what that looks like. to be honest i've been completely isolated and just kind of made up my practice by myself. i've always wished i had some magic buddies to learn from.
