I don't know much about game theory, but trading has a lot to do with predicting the expectations of others. If enough people believe an asset will appreciate in the future, they buy it and the price goes up. If they believe it will depreciate, they sell it and the price goes down. Every fluctuation in the market is like a seesaw of fear and greed, and profit can be made when people overshoot in either direction.
