29285165 No.29285165 [Reply] [Original]

I'm from germany and if I stake, I have to hodl my tokens for 10 years to avoid taxes. Is it worth it?
I own HBAR, VET, ZIL, KAI and ADA and I want to buy more of each every month for a year while staking for a year.
The 10 year hodl bs is what's keeping me away from staking...

i have doubts that the 10 year rule applies for staking and lending. i wont acknowledge it

I would stake if it wasn't for the 10 years rule. Everyone says it applies here in germany though. What makes you think it doesn't apply? Really curious.

No, it's not worth it. 99% of shitcoins have a bleed down to near 0. Buy low, sell high, pay your taxes.

DIA may be worth hodling long term.

The only coin worth staking that long is $GRT

But that law also sounds retarded. You sure you read it right?

Just started in January and going to throw 400-700€ every month into KAI, ZIL, HBAR and VET for like a year. Going to have 10-30k each and then let it sit.
Bad idea?

>>29287261
Not thinking about withdrawing now. I want to buy more for 1 to 1.5 years but would have loved to stake with it to have more but not with that 10 years rule.

keep a part in non-staked coins, that you plan on cashing out after 1 year for non taxable event. and have the mindset, that you will keep the ada stack, or other staked, just around in the online sphere, just because its good to have some amound outsite of banks reach. other thing to taxes, that people maybe dont consider: if you live frugal by the, not sure 12k/year income, where the tax brackets start. you can just cash out, together with taxaccount, report this as income, but this will get you 'taxed' by your personal taxrate. if you dont have much income or cash out alot, theres still no taxes to pay. fuck merkel

If I don't stake and hodl 1 year after last purchase I won't have to.
I don't want to risk going to jail. Germany is horrible when it comes to taxes. Harder punishment for tax avoiding than for rape.

>> No.29288612

In Australia staking gains are counted as income basically. You have to cash out at the time you receive them and pay your appropriate rate including your other income, or assume the risk of owing that tax and not cashing out and paying it later. I'm going to start staking this week with bancor and see how it goes. May as well get used to it because i'm never selling my link or xsn or bnt and i'll need to be earning

The 10 years rule applies to the REWARDS you get from the staking awards no the coins you stake. Also, there is no way the Finanzamt can prove you staked your coins.

>Nutzung =/= Lending/Staking

Most german crypto tax experts are in agreement that 'staking' isn't counted as a 'Nutzung' so it won't cause a 10 year minimum hold to cashout tax free.

But to be exact not even the Finanzamt is sure on how to tax staking. Besides, you can cashout the coins as they are since the staking isn't visible/provable anyway.

Fellas, what can you say about the Baex system(#baex)? There are a lot of tweets about this defi binary exchange, and I want to know your opinion. Because blockchain binary can be profitable for users. I checked their referral and bonus programs, 4% of all earnings sounds nice
