Is mining dead with the new nVidia update?

>> No.29126839

isn't mining going to be dead when ETH goes to POS?

>> No.29126892

>>29126839
Yeah but who knows when that will be. There might be some other profitable coins though right?

No, because ETH has 0xBitcoin.

no, the update is a huge nothing from them. literal virtue signaling gamers. image attached says it all, no one bothered to look at this.

if you didn't know a 3080 works at 90+Mh/s, and a 3090 at 110+Mh/s. 86Mh/s on 320W is garbage. and no the driver/software "blocking" won't keep people from using these cards. miners are going to use custom or old drivers and not give a shit.

doesnt it only affect the unreleased 3060? i hope its dead but i heard big mining farms will just make custom bios. but then again, eth is going to get murdered by bnb so it might be dead regardless.

if these nvidia nerfs actually work for newer cards, it's good for any established miner, since it will mean less hashrate joining the network. these miner-oriented cards specs are sort of crappy, only people who pay no electricity will consider it, but having no resale value like regular gpus really hurts

Lmao I've never looked up 0xBTC until just now even after all the shilling it's only a $3m MC coin? Looks like shit

It's the first mineable ERC20. When ETH goes proof of stake 0xBTC will be mineable.

You and the rest of /biz/ are nothing but low I.Q monkeys. You don't seem to realize the importance of a hard capped store of value token. Here pic related, argue with against Vitalik's point of view.

It's funny how Nvidia is slowly becoming more and more like Intel, binning their products to create pointless market segmentation, only this time the soiboi mainstream is thundereously applauding this new round of binning because of "muh CO2".
It doesn't matter anyway, because the serious crypto farms were already running custom firmwares.

Ethereum going POS is going to be such a great day for 0xBitcoin that it's hard for me to even comprehend the gains we'll see. 0xBitcoin will literally be the most established and only major asset in the entire Ethereum ecosystem that's mineable and has value.

Why would everyone mine this instead of the next profitable coin?
>>29128091
If it's just a driver update then everyone really has nothing to worry about right?

Might as well mine doge? Not really sure I understand

Either way why are people not going after it now then?

Is there anything stopping newer miners from just flashing that firmware?

Not that simple, it's not the first time Nvidia pull this kind of shit (search for "clock lock notebook nvidia") and they're really good at this kind of jew stuff. Not saying there won't be a bypass but it will scare away most of the casual miners that's for sure

At the same time why are we not using ASIC miners instead of GPUs?

Should I sell my 6x 1080 Ti now or wait a few more weeks/months?

>> No.29134367

>>29133011
ASIC miners are built specifically for certain cryptocurrencies and are better suited to certain algorithms. They're more custom made. A Bitcoin ASIC can't mine Ethereum or 0xBTC for example.

For anyone more interested in mining hardware and software the 0xBTC community knows a ton: discord permalink is JGEqqmS and can also be found under the community tab on 0xbitcoin dot org

What's an update to a rolling black out party? No more mining, throttle the block chain. See how easy that was? Green means no gas
