Help a fellow autist out getting started in crypto. I've been trying to learn it on my own, but so much seems to change go rapidly, and everyone I talk to irl has differing opinions.

Here is what I know so far.
There are some coins called stable coins which like BTC, ETH, XMR and Bwhich you can buy for fiat on exchanges like binance or coinbase.

The coins getting shilled on here such as doge, grt, avax etc are alt coins cannot be bought for crypto but needed to exchanged for stable coins on either the binance or ethereum blockchain and paid for using gas fees.

Here's what confuses me.
What wallet and exchange do I use for what purpose ?
Some say metamask, but that supports ethereum chain but not binance. Some say use coinbase or metamask itself, some others recommend trust wallet.

Are there gas fees if I transfer my own crypto from one wallet to another ?
Anything else to know to get started ?

Anyone with questions may also post them.

I hate newfags whose first thought is to come to biz of all places as a starting point to learn, because you're guaranteed to just end up chasing pump and dump fecal trash.

Stablecoins are coins like USDT, BUSD, USDC. They are pegged to the dollar.

People saying that BTC or ETH are stablecoins are jokes because they are not moving at all.

only read the first few words but you can exchange them all on exchanges

use binance
metamask as wallet but only if you feel like gambling on altcoins

tl;dr DYOR because i spoonfed you enough already

I'm not asking advice on which coin to buy or which pnd to chase. I'm asking on how to set up a general trading system. Which apps to use and how to optimise the whole process.

What this guy said ^

You can use any/all exchanges. You pick them mostly based on their fees and what coins they sell. Most just use Binance since its the most accessible. An exchange has built in wallets that you store your crypto unto. If you want a wallet not tied to an exchange then get Metamask or hardware wallets like Ledger or Trezor.

Like another anon said, This isn't the best place to come if you know NOTHING about crypto. There is a high learning curve to get into crypto and that is not helped by all the shilling of shitcoins that plagues this board.

i usually trade stocks, but this seems way more complicated. some things exist for the same purpose but no one is willing to say why or which is better.
what's the difference between uniswap or butterfly exchanges ?

Binance is a good option for the variety of coins on there. Coinbase is a good place to start though. It’s user friendly, and most shitcoins aren’t on there, so it’s less likely you’ll drop money into a loser, but it can still happen. Just remember not to invest more than you can afford to lose.

No its mostly because redditors dont come here to join our community of crypto, they come here to troll, bitch, FUD and shitpost, because thats what gets them updoots on reddit. Those type of posters add NOTHING to this community, so yeah, go back.

Yup. Exactly. OP, do understand that 75% of the coins here are pump and dumps or are shilled shitcoins. I've been in enough Telegram channels that a lot of threads here are artificial. People post a link to the thread and they make everyone reply praising the coin and calling out everyone who doubts them.
Look out for ponzi scheme coins and you should stay off shit like yield farming/staking.

This means:
>Stick to top 50 coins check coinmarketcap.com
>Know that there is a difference between MARKET CAP AND THE FUCKING PRICE A 1 CENT COIN OR DOES NOT FUCKING MEAN THAT THE COIN IS CHEAP
>READ WHAT THE COIN ACTUALLY FUCKING DOES BECAUSE I KEEP NOTICING THAT NEWFAGS ON POORFOLIO FAGS JUST PICK WHATEVER COIN AND WHEN I ASK THEM WHAT THE COIN DOES THEY DONT KNOW JACKSHIT

The best way to learn is by doing.
Use a blockchain (with current gas fees I'd avoid ethereum), read at least the official page of the coin you are interested in and maybe some post about it. And if you use twitter follow some people that buidl things on the blockchain

I'd suggest starting by reading this https://ethereum.org/en/what-is-ethereum/

Don't watch shitty youtube videos, they are almost always useless.
https://www.youtube.com/c/Finematics/videos this is the only decent channel I found
