Supply is minted and same supply is burned by the protocol to be the opposite side of liquidity so it's not really an elastic supply because the supply which is added is always removed when an LP withdraws. If anything price should skyrocket since it is the other side of all liquidity pairs.

Pangolin is a fork of Uniswap. Problem with Uniswap is liquidity pairs splits up total liquidity for any coin. Bancor on the other hand has single-sided liquidity since all coins are paired against BNT and then the protocol does the conversions for swaps in the background. Go and check a swap pair on Uniswap, slippage is almost always smaller on Bancor for this reason.

Also Bancor is working on swaps across chain, so for example swap from AVAX to ERC 20 on ethereum, so you can do trades without using a bridge. Pangolin doesn't have this.
I'm going to contact Bancor about helping them extend their bridge to Avalanche.

It probably is on the avalanche roadmap. Everyone should be working on this imo.
It is build on Ethereum, but the smart contract is portable. They've also started work on a separate chain Bancor network which would act as a bridge chain between different chains, kind of like how Chainlink can listen to events on different source chains. I want to convince Bancor to build their custom network as a blockchain on Avalanche with a unique Bancor VM so then it would have easy access to a pool of validators and could benefit from the fast consensus. Seems like right now they're trying to build their network on Polkadot though.

I think the real holy grail beyond cross-chain swaps would actually be cross-chain contract calls though. Probably too next level for people to actually attempt at this time though.
