I was a retail wagecuck with no degree, and taught myself basic languages to make some websites, made a portfolio and this site with a map that shows where V2 rockets landed in the UK (I had just read Gravity's Rainbow). Eventually got a comfy remote job as a junior dev doing simple bug fixes.

Web dev isn't my ideal, but I feel like I'm learning enough transferable skills each day that eventually I'll be able to get myself into better coding jobs. So it's 100% possible to do without a degree!
