So I misread the DD on CTRM and I plan to get out ASAP, but I want someone to confirm my suspicions. I read Hudson Bay Capital bought a 10% stake and I took that as bullish sentiment, but on second glance, they actually only exercised warrants for $0.19/share. They also did so a month ago, exercising only enough to claim 9.99% ownership and evade the mandatory reporting minimim of 10% ownership. This is very bearish, right?

I got 8k riding on memestock Boqii and their earnings are on 15th, next monday.

Fuckfuckfuck. I know better than to sit through earnings but I got greedy after price dumped beforehand. Now I'm not so sure. I bought low, sold high and bought the dip.

And to think 6 months back my whole portfolio was only 6k, now I'm betting more on a single memestock. I went from it to 30k. Although I took another loan which amounts to 12k in total debt. Anyhow, it's pretty crazy how my networth just skyrocketed

Can someone explain to me why I'm retarded in spending a couple grand in 2 year long call inverse ETF options?

If we get a downturn like Feb-March 2020 they'll be worth 10x my portfolio and if we keep having growth they are really just a minor loss compared to how much everything else is currently making.

It feels like a cheap insurance policy on the rest of my portfolio unless the market just crabs for 2 years.

I wouldn't be so sure. AWS used to dominate over 60% of that market, and yet somehow Amazon has allowed others to encroach, with Microsoft Azure leading the charge, which is really worrying because Microsoft is retarded and can't make business decisions worth shit. Now Salesforce is even getting into that space, and if Amazon can't keep Microsoft at bay, they sure as fuck can't keep Salesforce at bay.

Not to mention companies like Cloudflare, Akamai, etc and other CDN companies, which are extremely hot right now and could very very easily pivot and get a foot in the door of the tech microservices industry. It's getting extremely crowded.

I once did some quick mafs from the late 80s to today, and the average growth of a company in the S&P 500 was around 10% and the average P/E ratio around 20, taking the values at the end of each year.
That obviously includes years like the peak of the dotcom bubble where it was much higher, and I'm sure some would say that the average itself is inflated. After a quick search, I didn't find any data for the average revenue growth before 89 though.
And there is, of course, always a question of how relevant historic data is, given that stocks haven't been a commonly accepted investment vehicle for that long, and the world has changed in the mean time.
Also, all these figures depend on macroeconomic trends. If interest rates are this low, it's not necessarily irrational for P/E ratios to be higher.

Maybe too hot.
NET beat earnings last week and the stock still dropped 10%. Some of these smaller CDN or cloud computing companies have been priced to perfection and can't afford any serious mistake.
Trying to compete with Amazon as a smaller, overvalued player with no moat seems like suicide.

That goes for a lot of companies. Clown market. I would actually say NET, out of all small/medium tech companies, is the most likely to break into the microservices industry and have the least risk in doing so. NET's success for the next 3 years is priced in, yes, but the company itself is very stable due to their business model with the free users and all that.

One seems to be mostly on hype so I'll probably trim the position by 50% to get my capital back and let the rest run. It's true 8/10 stocks fall at earnings but that's when you looking at the sum of all stocks. When you are actually making money investing, you're looking at a sum of actually good companies to decide from, cutting out a lot of absolute trash. At that point it's more like 50/50 rise/fall and then a lot of companies that fall 8% post-earnings will then rise 15% that week like GE has done for several earnings now.

That's not Elon uniquely being a con artist, that's how the start-up/venture capital world is structured. If there's a hint of profitability in your finances, your investors will call you up and start screaming at you to spend more on growth.
It's an extremely fucked up system that's basically a respectable Ponzi scheme, and it's the system you have to operate in if you want to do anything big in the 21st century.
If anything, I get the feeling that Elon is being set up to take the fall alongside his Redditors buddies. Give a face for the pairs of talking breasts on finance networks to pin the blame on, all while the actual culprits skate by.

why not, there's a bunch of value traps like oil which are have very limited downside (given that they're already at or even under book value, cashburn stopped since crude oil is mooning, etc etc) but with very obvious recovery expected this year
Like this is just shitty boomer gains like +50% over the whole year, something people will get in a month or even a week with moonshot gambles BUT it's something you can reasonable put 5-figures into. They're shitty boomer gains but you can leverage with safe 2022 or 2023 ITM calls to turn that into a pretty safe 2x. Maybe 4x if you're a bit more risky

Pic related a credit spread on Suncor. It would potentially be over 4x by expiry if you entered a month ago. 4x if Suncor goes to a boring $30 by January 2022, and your breakeven is a bit over $20

The only reason I'm only doing LEAPS on Suncor instead is because I can't do spreads in my tax-free account
