each block contains information and the blocks are chained together. this provides immutable data storage

If a mad scientist were to create a physical block chain, it would be superior to supercomputers. Imagine a dirt block from minecraft. Now imagine the whole minecraft seed a square, dirt block. Now imagine if 1, 10, 100 billion dirt blocks forming a bigger dirt block, and every dirt block touches all the other dirt blocks, with no latency between the distance of the blocks.

Inside the bitcoin's code there is 'world' of blocks. This is a bit of a simplification, but I'll explain in more detail. In short, these blocks need to talk to one another and do digital handshakes to arrive at a consensus about their price. When the price goes up, the blocks are chained together to formalise the price change. When it goes down, the chains break. The problem is, bitcoin is a little slow. You may have heard of chainlink, which has solved the oracle problem and it's a lot faster. That's why you see a lot of people saying chainlink will eventually replace bitcoin.
