28536957 No.28536957 [Reply] [Original]

It's quite sad that people think because ETH's gas fees are so high that the network is unusable.
In reality? You're just poor.
You all are like SEA coming to America and surprised that a soda costs $5 in a restaurant, or that rent is $2000. This is normal to an American, but 100% unaffordable for non-Westerners.

You see, where the stupidity really gets me is the poor want to use ETH in the same way the rich do, which is unfortunate, but your time WILL come. What you all are doing now is you're angry that you can barely afford to make ends meet, you're angry about your $2000/month rent. I get that. Buying a house would be a struggle, too. You won't be able to have much fun. You'll just have to make those $2000 mortgage payments (better than rent), but in the end, at least you'll have something.

Ethereum is the same way. You're waiting for Ethereum's fees etc to be so low that ANYONE can afford it. When do you think the right time to invest is? When EVERYONE can afford to, or when the technology is still in its infancy.

>There's no point in learning how to program, the internet is only 56k/s. It's fucking UNUSABLE! NO ONE WILL USE THIS WHEN THEY CAN JUST PICK UP THE PHONE.

Listen to yourselves. Scaling to ETH is coming sooner than any AVAX, ADA, or any other (failed) ETH killer. Do you really, do you REALLY believe your ETH killer will build the same network, trust, and TVL in the time that it takes for ETH to scale? Yes, ETH is like VHS, and yes, your ETH killer is totally Betamax. It's so perfect, no one will use it. ETH1.5 is going to be like DVD, and your EK is going to be like BluRay.

Sorry, but you lost before you even stated. Bow to the king.
Buy Bitcoin, Buy Ethereum.

This is another mark of ignorance.
Don't take the phrase personally, but all I can see here is people saying that investing in the stock market in the 80's is "too hard."
A good meme going around is, "Pick your hard:"
>eat healthy or be overweight
>save money and invest or have no retirement
>have discipline or suffer among those who do
>learn to hold your tongue or find yourself alone
>Pick your hard
If investing in the stock market in the 80's is too hard for you, wait until Etrade launches a mobile app on your iPhone, you'll be 40 years too late, but it'll be easier.

Pick your hard.
>Bitcoin's too slow or lightning fast Nano
>I can't use DeFi but I can complain to everyone about how they should use my EK
>Hardware wallets are scary but Metamask is easy
Pick your hard.

There's the very real possibility that ETH will have negative issuance years and the total supply of ETH will be about 5x that of Bitcoin, forever. So imagine for a second you have not 10 ETH but "2 BTC"

do you even understand anything about crypto? proof-of-work uses GPUs. massive amounts of it
proof-of-stake has trivial computing requirements. proof-of-stake is secured by capital, not hashpower
miners will not switch to eth2, because they cannot switch to eth2. people who are currently miners can sell their operation for eth or keep currently mined eth to become stakers like any other staker, that's it
the whole point of pos is for miners to have no influence anymore

OP, I gotta say that you are BASED and it's nice of you to try to help these fucking retards out
sadly it will fall on deaf ears
people would rather buy ADA at a $30 billion valuation thinking they're early than actually look at the facts

ETH is not expensive because it can't scale, it's expensive because it still makes economic sense for certain people at these prices. Personally I don't punt on platforms at all but as someone who needs to use blockchain all the time, ETH is indispensable. It is literally the only game in town and I don't see that changing. Despite the fees it's impossible to supplant.
