I weasled my way into a home with a few grand saved up. Borrowed against it then bought a really nice car which I then let an illegal drive under my name for UBER for 50% of the income. I rent out the house to his family as well and I just live in an extra room for free.

Who is buying? Chinese aren't allowed in right now. People are buying crypto/stocks because we're moving into an asset based economy, the same reasons people would be buying real estate, it won't get cheaper unless theres a massive flood of inventory (i.e 2008-2009), and thats not happening any time soon, especially with a bunch of people just like you waiting for prices to drop so they can buy, ironically keeping the prices up by being in demand for a house, eating up properties as soon as they dip 5-10 percent. As income inequality increases, you would do better off to buy a property now, you'll win in the long run, and most likely in the short run too.

I didn't know him but there was a guy who worked at my company which is a huge firm who pretty much got lost in the system when he rotated teams. Like he was supposed to be assigned to a different assignment but there was some fuck up where he was never given a new role. He managed to keep quiet about it and stay on the payroll for 6 years without coming to work before he got found out and fired and now they're trying to sue him.
Another I actually did know joined my team the same time I did. Our job requires a degree in something maths or stats related. This guy had geography, just ticked the box that he had a related degree and it took them 2 years to check and find out.
