Can someone tell me why is Chainlink underperforming so much?

I dont know the project much (I am overdiversified in top crypto) but I am seeing this is one of the few coins not pumping.

Were there some bad news I was not aware of?

Bunch of 4channers tried to force it as /ourcoin/, during the presale ico phase of chainlink there was a minimum requirement of 300eth to enter the presale. Bunch of anons pooled up together and shared presale links to fill them with their eth. Coin continued to get shilled and pumped up and hyped for the sibios event that link was attended, whole event turned out to be a flop chainlink had a presentation in a room of like 18 people next to the public toilets, literally no news or partnership came from the event and the coin dumped back to below ico prices and created 1000's of bagholder anons. Now during this alt bull run lots of anons and took advantage of this and shilling this coin to all the new money and newfags that joined in december and don't know this story. The coin is HEAVILY manipulated and the supply is dried up from huge whales who accumulated below ICO price to create a artificially lower supply (a lot like REQ) and these people have so much room to dump on all of you faggots to still be in profit when the time comes. In regards to actual project that chainlink aiming to achieve it's nothing more than a basic json parser for smart contracts, would take like a day to add to ethereum by itself.. literally making links whole concept pointless and definitely no need for a token. Would take a lot longer to get it working with bitcoin but the bitcoin core devs would be able to work out the solution a lot quicker than chainlink will, think that's something worth noting that literally nothing is completed and you're literally just buying a whitepaper, they have only 2 developers and they don't communicate at all with no proven background on either, in fact sergey was involved in a project before chainlink called NxT that he since been abandoned until it was took over by a new developer team.

The current token price has the Chainlink network running close to a 50% loss against GAS fees. The subsidy required to offset this is substantial and creates a situation not unlike the Sword of Damocles that hung over the ICO bubble when people realized the devs would have to cash out their ETH to get fiat to keep the lights on. It's like that but on a much smaller scale and there are China whales that are suppressing the token price because it causes negative feedback that allows them to exchange ETH for LINK at an ever more favorable rate.

It's far from ideal and a bit toxic until layer 2 comes out and Sergey can either continue drowning us unnecessarily or force a liquidity shock that BTFOs the China whales. That is when we find out if he is with them or against them.

I'm actually more qualified to talk about this than most anons.I'm employed with a cyber-techno machinations company, I do a lot of security analyst programming type work. Open source, decentralized, APIs, partnerships, you name it. We'd be one of the first companies in line for something like Chainlink, if the decentralized smart contract space had more value over traditional data exchanges. There's a catch though, an underlying flaw more deeply embedded in the bedrock of LINK than the very code itself. The flaw is with the concept, and it's this: Companies won't actually go through the hassle of trusting their data API's through crypto.

Now I can already hear your keyboards going frantic, but hear me out. /biz/ hates banks, and traditional data providers. But actual companies, businesses, and investors do not. There's an old saying you might have heard of: "If it ain't broke, don't fix it!". The idea that any of our bosses would give us the go ahead if we approached them to put our companies valuable data in a smart contract on a cryptocurrency called Chainlink, that they've never heard of, we'd be laughed out at best and fired on the spot at worst. We already have API data buyers and providers we trust.

'But Chainlink is trustless!' I hear you cry, but is that really a good thing? Just listen to the sound of it. Businesses don't want to spend millions of dollars on something that is trustLESS, they want something trustFUL. 'But the reputation system!', doesn't that defeat the whole point of your coin? If companies only trust nodes with high reputation, what's the difference between trusting banks and data providers that already have reputation, but in real life not on a computer screen.

The fact is, LINK is going to share the same fate as ETH will. A lot of 'real world application' hype, with a lot of 'crypto world application' reality. Only, this billion supply coin isn't going to come close to the $1k that Etherum hit. Happy gambling though anons.

(((They))) are Davos niggers like Sandro Salsano and institutions in general. Basically jews and crypto jews (proxy jews). You need to understand that the data worth trillions in value that smart contracts will unlock is dependent on decentralized oracles and LINK monetizes that value through collateral. LINK is following Wyckoff Distributions like clockwork. They are doing everything they can to shake people out and then will expand the price so quickly those who left will be priced out. Crypto is 100% unregulated and price action is completely dictated by whales and large players. Only they decide when it moves. There isn't a single other project in all crypto that has even remotely the same value proposition as Chainlink. Its not even close. Once staking is online and matured it becomes a positive feed back loop of network growth directly translating to increased token value growth which then in turn allows for more network growth as less LINK is needed to secure the value already being facilitated in contracts.

Other things also moon alternative to LINK so you sell and chase those. Sometimes you can get lucky and swing back into LINK but eventually people will get burnt so hard and it never retraces even remotely low enough. LINK is eventually going to be number 2 MCAP surpassing ETH. It amazes me that people still have no idea what LINK will do in the coming years.

China is trying to kill off the main cryptos like Bitcoin, Ethereum, XRP, and LINK. Whether it’s to pump the alts or whether it’s to drive out current investors is a question. ETH has also been underperforming dramatically as well. Look at LINK or ETH’s 1min chart. Every time they start to get a little wind in their sail, some asshole swoops in and sells a bunch to create the illusion of weakness. Last week when Tesla announced it purchased BTC, over 80% of the money flowing into the markets was to Ethereum... yet when you look at the charts, you can see ETH WANTING to go up but outside forces are preventing any sort of rally. There’s no doubt that Ethereum, ChainLink and others are being manipulated and their prices suppressed. China appears to be the main culprit, with F2Pool selling off shit loads of Bitcoin at the most suspect of times, like when Bitcoin is getting ready to break resistances or Fibonacci levels. This is classic market manipulation but since it’s China, they can evade US law. This is what Hollywood movies are made about.

One of the factors is definitely suppression.

They used every trick in the book to keep Link below $28 today.

Link holders are absolutely delusional.

Link is the perfect normie coin. It's got a cool logo, it's $20/coin, and "muh oracles" is just technically sophisticated enough for normies to understand but too sophisticated for normies to dive deep enough to realize Link just isn't needed.

If smart contracts actually start being used in the real world (no, making ERC-20 scamcoins doesn't count) then some will require Oracles. But an Oracle is just a JSON parser with some voting mechanisms baked in. It's not something you need BILLIONS of dollars and YEARS to develop. It's not something you need "partnerships" for. You sit down, write the code, and you're done. Chainlink isn't in the Oracle business. They're a branding machine. Their sole objective is pumping the price of their asset, Link. An asset, by the way, they own 60% of. Yes, 60%.

When the time comes Oracles will be written on the native platform (probably Ethereum) and they'll use the native token (Ether). No one is going to need Link, no one is going to buy Link. Nobody will care. This project, along with all the other fad-projects will fade into obscurity. I won't speculate on price, this entire market is an irrational frenzy. Perhaps there is still room to grow, more money to be made. Just know you stand on 0 fundamentals and in the end fundamentals will prevail.
