I'm a retarded crypto newfaggot please explain gas fees and how they're going to fuck me when I buy eth from coinbase. I bought $1k like a week ago and all they charged me was $15 commission. Is it related to using overseas exchanges to avoid kyc/taxes? I've tried to find the answer to this and I'm can't. Please pretend I'm a severely inbred african tribesman and help me understand. let me rephrase the question: I purchased $1k worth of eth and it only cost me 1.5% commission, but I see people complaining about these ~25% fees. New shitcoins are usually first listed on decentralized exchanges for which you need to pay gas fees to use. Same goes for DeFi and every other shit that's on ethereum mainnet. Coinbase has pretty high fees for a centralized exchange though.
