im still trying to accumulate desu. but i think if we get a full alt season and anything resembling 2017, this should at least 50x from here, if not 100x. so trying to get about 10k worth as fast as i can, adding on dips or bullish consolidations below resistance.

i want to try swinging it too but im scared because its in price discovery and can just continue to run.

Lots of pajeets in Silicon valley. Also they are featured in plenty of mainstream news articles.

How does this work? am I supposed to min Y dollars with my Eth?

>> No.28274992

What does it even do?

>> No.28275180

>>28274877
instead of just holding eth you mint ydollars with your eth and then use that money to yield farm or do whatever you want. ydollars are a loan against your eth that you can use to accrue more capital.

they'll be releasing versions of this for a myriad of coins in the future, with DSD, Ocean, YAM, Ramp, and others some of the already confirmed ones.

It allows holders of tokens to create instantaneous and liquid credit through their holdings. In the future they will be adding real estate and stocks as well. so you'll be able to both invest and borrow against real estate, stocks, and other real world assets.

ok i bought 1k of this obvious ponzi. now what? do should i add liq and stake? or is it too risky to stake now?

>> No.28275317

>>28275243
because ive researched the project and check in on threads here when people post about it.

DSD, Ocean, UMA, REN partnerships are confirmed. RAMP is mentioned in their telegram and YAM is mentioned in their telegram and in the YAM discord they talk about using OpenDao and bringing synths to YAM through opendao. Yam devs love the project.

Don’t stake now because it’ll pump hard and you’ll face IL.

>> No.28275383

>>28275359
yeah, im not staking now. waiting for native staking/governance to come out. in addition to governance you'll be able to collect fees from the minting ecosystem and also borrow against your open holdings. so super bullish.

welcome to DeFi, baby.

anyways, the yDollar is a great product and its no coincidence that top projects such as Ocean, Ren, and UMA decided to work with them.

if you want a fat technical deep dive, here is a video.

I actually agree with you. But this copy-pasta from another Open thread on here brings things down to earth a bit. I also think that this isn't all that different than the sort of financial instruments that exist in traditional finance. If you read about the binomial tree option model and other more complex financial instruments they sound equally as detached from reality, but that doesn't make them any less real. Finance lends itself to a level of abstraction. Anyways:

"While DeFi inaugurates a number of improvements over traditional finance, some of its more novel propositions are:

1. Democratization of finance (decentralization, ability for retail investors to tap into advanced financial tools)

2. Unlocking liquidity and untapped value of assets via lending and other methods (yield farming, etc).

OpenDAO capitalizes on these propositions by allowing institutional investors to turn illiquid assets liquid. Think of a property owner, who, wanting to invest further, tokenizes their property and then uses it as a debt instrument to access more capital to do as he pleases through OpenDAO. Think also of a retail investor, wary of volatility in crypto, who invests in property (or stocks) through OpenDAO and then mints stablecoins against his asset holdings to do as he pleases.

We can see then that OpenDAO is not just about tokenizing assets, but also about creating a system that creates value through unlocking untapped liquidity in both DeFi, and traditional finance."

nice fud. this has been addressed by the teams multiple times. theyve said themselves that token holders and LP providers shouldnt have to trust any centralized authority. plans for centralization and also the cashbox completely mitigate this risk. DMM was the issuers of assets which was the issue. this is not the case with OPEN
