nope, other way round. most people's photos are taken on a phones these days, which all have terrible lenses. the mirror is a much more accurate image than the distorted one phones provide.

idk anon I'm pretty handsome so I've never experienced this. My foreskin does smell something terrible though. No matter how many times I wash it, it keeps wafting through my pants and underwear and knocking over passersby with its powerful musk. I can't really leave the house anymore so I guess I may as well be ugly. Grass is always greener on the other side.

Fashion photographer here. Good news anon. The models look terrible in the photos before I edit them also. It’s not just you.

A lot of it has to do with the contrast in your face. If you have lighter skin and hair, digital cameras will amplify your eye sockets and shadows. People with pale skin and black hair with thick dark eyebrows are the easiest to photograph.

lense affects how you look enormously. even the difference between your selfie lense and the back lense of your phone will make features appear differently

The more asymmetrical your face is, the worse you will look to yourself in photos. Like your brain has gotten used to your asymmetry and cancels it out mentally so when you see the reverse you notice the asymmetry plus it's worse because the mental adaptations are working against you.

Also the lenses thing.

Also the distance you take the photo from makes a huge difference to the perspective of your face. The lenses in this gif are like different amounts of zoom, they are at taken different distances. You can do the same with one camera and crop your face to see the same effect.
