You may think that a person who does not provide to the economy directly is a net loss, but the fact that they need to be kept alive makes their environment provide for them, this is the value a husk provides. More than half of the economy is fueled by useless industries that could be eliminated or streamlined with a dash of fascism and revolution.

Not that I'd condone such drastic measures, I am more than content with things exactly as they are, but I think that that's the only thing that will fix things.
