Depends on the site, scrypt is the popular algo used for it and the program links are usually on the pool sites. You have to go to mining pools now unless you have a server farm, but many of the apps do allow you to attempt solo mining. It’s made to be difficult for anyone to get into who isn’t willing to dig - notice how unhelpful the average article is. I’m using aikapool for mining some random alt coins and it’s working perfect, free except for commission paid for everything you line. But just search for doge mining pools and you’ll find others. Every coin has different mining programs that will work with it and your best bet finding them is a pool site or searching GitHub.
