It's just a privacy thing. You let the site see your public address by connecting, so you reveal to them your holdings on that address. This could potentially be used in conjunction with IP address and browser fingerprinting to create a profile of you, but your funds are safe so long as you never approve any transactions without carefully looking at what it does first.
