Essentially, the stock market is becoming a derivative of the options market. This is because of Delta hedging. When you buy a call, a market maker is going to buy shares to hedge against your risk. This means that if you have $100, buying options impacts the price of the underlying MUCH MORE than buying the same dollar value in stocks. Not only are you leveraging much more stock, but you are causing a market maker to buy shares against your risk.

What would someone have to do to exploit this? Hypothetically, let's say someone set up a multi-staged entry plan where you take a group of people who want to buy a stock, and set it up so that the first wave buys out of the money calls that expire in a month, then wave two buys further out of the money calls for two months out. Wave 3 buys even further out of the money calls for 3 months out, and so on and so forth.
