There is certainly government manipulation. ISIS only accepts XMR. Darknets adopt XMR. It's the most feared coin to big banks and the glowies. Is it all because of privacy? No. XMR is actually fast and cheap to transact unlike all other shit coins. Unlike BTC, ETH, LTC, it can actually handle stress tests of real world use. The fed and glowies fear losing power.
