Ok I think I get the stop limit in terms of selling. If you set limit at 0.048 when current price is 0.05, it’ll sell immediately. But the stop will prevent that from happening unless it starts dumping and then the sell will trigger before the crash goes full speed down.

Maybe my really bad insight can help you figure it out then. I'm using Bittrex which allows me for a OCO order. As you can see, it basically puts in a if/but sort of order for me. If it hits a set price per coin then it auto sells based upon my percentage. But, if it goes under the stop loss(in this case mine was 0.043), it sells it instead. It keeps my losses low and in the case of it mooning while I slept I would've made some money. I'm not sure about Binance so maybe some other anon can help you there on that.

let's say you want to buy 100 shares of $ROPE, about $248 so you put in a stop-limit buy of $250 for 100 shares.
You then buy immediately unless it changes mid buy, then you only buy at the amount or below what you set the limit for.
Let's say it goes to 251, then pumps to 350, the 450. You only got say 49 shares cause of the stop limit buy. Kinda sucks.

Let's take another route though: let's say $ROPE becomes 251 and your stop buy goes in, then goes back down to 245, you'll then buy the whole 100 shares of $ROPE.
Then it goes up to 250, 350, 450, etc, while you set up a limit-sell of 345, then 399 when it's at 400, then 449 when it's at 450, etc.

You lose the potential 1$ to save the locked in gains you already have.

Using both you only buy at prices you want to buy at, and sell at price you're fine with selling at.

If you don't use these controls, the market determines what you do, instead of you determining what you'll let the market do to you.

I think I get it but that would still only work if set right at a potential breakout point, so you’d have to see those coming.
