The reality of the min wage increase is less hours and the people who were making decent wages now have only slightly higher pay than minimum wage. My fiance was a manager making 15$/hr while the newbies were making 9$.

Speed up to today, and minimum wage is 14$ for the newbies and my fiance is only making 16$. Everything is way more expensive now. What's the point?

Also even prior to this, wages were the biggest cost of almost any business. There's a lack of demand because of covid and they are raising wages. This is like the final nail for small businesses.

Well I will say that there are people in this world so rich, that at this point, most representatives are figureheads for the ultra rich. I do believe that we are in a plutocracy. Globally. Citizens United was a mistake. However, inflation is a real thing. Printing money is going to ruin the average persons life and retirement, while the ultra rich remain ultra rich.
