My gf of a year and a half when she was single met a guy off the women message first app, bumble. They didn't hit it off after the first date, and he was the one to say " we should just be friends". So they became platonic "friends." then he moved to another state and they stayed in touch via social media

As long as we've been together, she talked about him here and there. I didn't know they met off a dating app, as she kept that under wraps. I found out when she and I were going to take a trip to the other state where said dude lives, and she told me how they met. She waited until the literal day before because it "slipped her mind".

She was telling me before how I could get to meet him, and after she told me how they met, I said fuck no what the fuck are you doing. So they didn't meet up and she stopped being digital pen pals with him. She let it slip that "oh next time in the state I can go see him" and I'm like "what the flying fuck?"

A month later, she's about to go to the other state this coming week (pre planned trip with her mom) . I caught her texting him last week, where apparently he messaged her out of the blue saying "so... Your birthday is coming up", and they had a back and forth. What platonic dude friend remembers a girl's birthday like that, the fuck? What type of message is that?

She was assuring me that he messaged her and she was simply responding. But I did notice that she visibly tried to hide the texts from me. "I hid it from you because I know you'd overreact"

She has multiple guy friends that I think are chill dudes and don't give a fuck about. It's just this one and how they met that sends me off, and how sketchy she's been with their communication.
