Are you people really buying GRT, UNI, SUSHI, AAVE, etc? I can't see why anybody would want to buy the governance token to a piece of software. It can be forked, you don't own the developers, and the only way you will see some kind of yield is if the code starts charging fees for use and become more expensive to use, which will lead to it being forked. Why are people buying these? Do I just not understand the market anymore?

GRT is not a governance token retard. It's the native currency for the google of blockchain.

>It's a [memeword] for the [memeword] of blockchain
The whole point of a currency in a decentralized system is that anything should be able to be used for it. If the *only* reason the token has value is because I need to convert my ETH into GRT to pay for requests, then the token is absolutely unequivocally useless. Any service which runs on Ethereum I should be able to pay in ETH. Otherwise it's a scam, something waiting to be replaced by a more efficient system, or both.

It's not ethereum-centric, it's engineered to work for IPFS and any other smart contract blockchain. They're currently working on integrating another layer 1 blockchain and did a recently community vote on it. This is also how LINK works.

It's about $0.00001 per query afaik.

Stay poor.

that’s poor logic, ETH isn’t designed to be a currency, and it can’t be reprogrammed to follow certain universal transactional rules the way programmatic money should be
