SHORTS DO NOT EXPIRE
Someone can short a stock as long as they fucking want, no matter what the price goes to. The difficulty is that they have to pay interest fees AND put up collateral. The higher the stock price, the more the fees are, the more collateral they need, and thus the harder is to maintain the short. If someone decides to exit instead of put up more collateral, then that's when they need to buy shares, which pushes the price higher, which makes it even worse for anyone else still shorting. This is a Short Squeeze.

Days to Cover is not an expiration date. It's just a simple calculation of how many shares are shorted divided by the average number of shares traded today. Basically, a Days to Cover of 1.5 means it would take 1.5 days for every short to exit IF every single trade during that time was a short buying shares to exit.

OPTIONS EXPIRE
For example, if you buy a Call Option to buy 100 shares at $10 on Feb 5, then who ever sold you that contract needs to have 100 shares available to sell you before the contract expires IF the price is higher than $10 on Feb 5. If the price goes higher before that date, then they have to buy at a higher price ahead of time, which pushes the price higher for everyone else who sold Call Options and doesn't own the shares yet. This is a Gamma Squeeze. Call options pretty much always expire on Fridays.

That's the thing, people are going to want that experience because they're not getting it. Saying that people aren't going to want to go to the movies when the pandemic is over because they can stream everything is like saying that no one is going to want to eat out because they can cook for themselves, or that no one is going to want to go to concerts because they can listen to fucking Spotify or whatever. The experiences are totally different.

It's of course going to vary based on the individual preferences of the person (I'm not big on concerts and won't be going to any), but we're going to see a HUGE boom in live event, film, and dining stocks after the pandemic is over. Anyone who doesn't realize this is fridge-temp IQ.
