If you're young/new you should avoid dividend stocks. They almost always grow slower than growth stocks. They are more for people with large net worths already and just want to live off of dividends when they are numerous enough.
Just do index funds or maybe microsoft. They will give tiny dividends, but it's still nice to see something a little extra come in.

Only reason I have a chunk of dividend stocks is for my emergency fund. Dividend stocks are nonvolatile, so it's still a PRETTY safe spot to park rainy day money, get some money off of it instead of it losing to inflation.

I used to work at BNY Mellon, this one time a trade came in, and they use such hilariously old software, that the value of the trade exceeded the amount of 0's available in the entry field. I think the limit was something like 9 digits, and they wanted to buy 10 digits of a security. For whatever reason it had to be put through as one trade, too. They looked really fucking stupid coming up with delays to the client who was buying at least $1,000,000,000 of whatever this Blackrock fund they were selling was. Anyway, about 6 hours later the guys looked like they'd aged 30 years and ended up calling someone who worked there 30 years ago how to do it on paper.

Rare earths are not really rare, despite their name. They are everywhere, it's just that we didn't really bother to mine them until recently.

Also, asteroid mining is not really viable due to orbital mechanics. It's as hard to drop something from orbit as it is to put something up there.

That's true. But the instant acceleration is extremely addictive. I can only achieve somthign similar by jumping off the clutch in a petrol car and that's still not the same.

You can definitely track them, because of their ridicolously low center of mass, but they will never be a miata.

Instant acceleration gets boring pretty quick. It's a bit of a one trick pony, and why I prefer my GT4 over a friends 992 Turbo S. The problem with EV's on track is the additional weight, this just eats through the brakes, the batteries overheat and you can't just stop after a session and refuel, you'd have to wait to recharge. I average about 6 MPG on track.

I think theres still a valid discussion to be had friend, but we're about to slide off page 10. I do think EV's have their merits and I'm quite stubborn, but nothing replaces the ICE thrill for me.
