most of the gme buying was done by redditors using robinhood. Robinhood decided to suspend buys for gme so the community got upset and said they should move to crypto since the corporations can't control it. They chose doge because it was the most meme worthy and no one was in gamestop for the fundamentals. From there news spread to the rest of the internet and once normies found out it did 900% they started looking for how to buy.
