Questrade is good and it would be easier to set up. IB is generally preferred by professional traders with a large account size, but some people think their platform is outdated and the amount you would save by having lower fees wouldn't add up to all that much unless you're frequently trading. You can always switch to IB later once your account is larger or keep a TFSA with Questrade and have a margin account with both.
