Reposting for anybody wondering.
To anybody delegating looking to keep track of the gains made by your stack, I found this on the discord.
https://thegraph.stake-machine.com/d/I3Mru_xGk/thegraph-delegator
https://thegraph.stake-machine.com/d/mL29QybMk/thegraph-indexers
Search your wallet ID or the indexer ID respectively and it shows your stack as well as the rewards associated.

Is it just me, or does Delegating not really seem worth it?

I have a 10k stack, I have to pay 50 GRT, plus gas, and lock my tokens in for a month.... and absolute best case scenario I get 100 GRT yearly? Why shouldn't I just hold?

Sure. Just send all of your tokens here and I'll send back double.

It's a long term thing. Currently it might not make sense because of gas costs. But what happens when a single token is worth much more than the gas cost? If you pick the right index you can make a respectable return on your stack. But at small amounts that might take too long. Just think of it as if GRT will be worth $20 one day. Would you scoff at 2000 dollars a year? Also you should get more than 100 a year. I have a 20k stack and get 10 daily so nearly 3700 a year. If GRT were to actually but even $5 that's still $20k a year.

The online tools helpful anons have linked me all seem to suggest 100/year is the best I can do with my 10k stack, and it's much less if I delegate to a more popular and reliable indexer rather than the top earner.

Am I missing something?

Unfortunately I won't tell your what indexer I'm using because I don't want to dilute my reward. I'll just say I make about 10 GRT a day with a 20k stack so you should be able to get about 5. Just pick carefully and do the math before you approve.

Damn, this is depressing...
Only half delegated because the first time I was learning this I was confused and thought high percentages are what I was going for (as in I get those percentages in rewards, not the indexer). So I picked one that had 80% on both. The lockup period is cancer, shouldn't even be a thing if you just plan on switching indexers. But I guess it's a learning process, huh? Their documentation on this is pretty ass.

Keto in mind the number is based on the current epoch and resets every interval. So it grows until you reach the end of the epoch. But it's also a factor of how many tokens are to be rewarded this epoch. Couldn't find anything on how that number is determined. Seems kind of random.

My only quibble is that I'm not sure if curators or indexers are a viable long term solution to making blockchain data searchable. Some kind of algorithm will surely render them obsolete...right?

>> No.26161422

Noticed something slightly interesting about delegation rewards. Regardless of when you join a pool, you seem to be rewarded your full potential for that epoch proportional to your share of the total index. So even if there's only 8 hours left, you'll still get your full share by the end. Doesn't really matter since the cooldown period means you shouldn't be able to do this more than once. But it's a bit of a min max.

Nah. The bottom right is how much you've gained so far this epoch. There's still 19 hours to go though so it will keep growing. Note the slope. Under total reward you should be able to see a time plot of your unrealized reward. It doesn't go up until the epoch ends.

The epochs seem to be about 1 day but is subject to change. The reward is a function of the total tokens being delegated. More delegates, more rewards. At least I think. For sure, an index with more tokens gets a bigger share of the current block. Think of it like processing power in various mining farms.
