Brahs who know the tech - educate us. I know Oracle solutions are necessary for DeFi, and Chainlink already has mass adoption

However do other solutions like API3 or BAND have significant advantages over Chainlink? I read something along the lines of Chainlink is basically centralized whereas API3 is not, therefore inherently more secure. What do you think

First in and massive adoption is huge for Link. Look how many have tried and failed at flipping BTC. Not saying impossible, but it has to be some next-next level tech to flip Link.

Yeah I understand metcalfe's law, looking for things beyond that. Underlying fundamentals. This is so I know what my long term holds are, what I'm taking long term profits in to when my alts pump. First mover advantage is not a sufficient argument when we could very well see ETH flipped by ADA within a few years

Back when Chainlink ICO'd, no one else was building oracles. After Chainlink took over DeFi, now all of a sudden everybody is building oracles. Same thing happened to Ethereum with smart contract platforms, same thing happened to Bitcoin with crypto currencies. Where are Bitcoin and Ethereum now and where are their competitors?

How does Chainlink at all compare to Ethereum and Bitcoin? Link holders make this comparison as if it's obvious. How? Bitcoin and Ethereum are permissionless networks that can grow untethered, and their security increases in a quantifiable way with additional independent node operators. Chainlink is extremely permissioned. Node operators are selected by Chainlink. True network effects can only take hold in a network that's untethered by a central governing authority.

no, if the thesis remains that: blockchains need oracles, and chainlink is by far the most secure oracle solution, then the majority of my position will be in oracles, they have never provided roadmaps and yet they have shipped, the existence of staking's development has been acknowledged by the team

Wait until this weekends price discovery is over for starters, I’d say it might cool off some time early next week. Aiming for a dip between $21-22 would be great if you set a price alert in Coinbase or bitpanda. And try and download Coinbase pro if your familiar with crypto, saves you a fuck tonne on fees which is great for your first link investment.

Theoretically possible, but there's 0 reason to think it will actually happen. Sergey has been in this space since 2014 making connections behind the scenes. Link is irrevocably the industry standard now. Acquisition of Ari and town crier + Arbitrum makes it even moreso.
