New announcement from the BAO team today-- the token is moving into V2 to get ready for sushiswap integration. The biggest practical takeaway from this plan for the time being is that the project is being deployed on the xDAI chain. From the announcement

This is bullish. The biggest barrier to entry for the token so far has been absurd ETH gas fees.
