Is polkastarter the new uniswap? I feel like this will completely replace uni in the next few months.

>> No.26063352

Already got a fat stack of this one, I might try to get in those ICOs they do, but I think it's mostly bots taking everything

>> No.26063429

>>26063294
Hi anon, no Polkastarter won't be the new Uniswap. Why? Because it's not replacing Uniswap, it's an IPO/IDO platform for startups on Polkadot.

What you're thinking of is Polkaswap, that is literally going to be Polkadot's version of Uniswap when it releases in Q1.

https://polkaswap.io/

I still have heavy stacks of Polkastarter though, just clarifying it's purpose.

No, it only has token pools. People will need to stack POLS tokens to take part in the IDO pools though, so it has great demand pull. Polkaswap will be the general swap protocol for DOT ecosystem.

I've got my eye on a few but they are extremely hard to get into now. Most of the projects now do a lottery from a shortlist of applicants.

I applied for Bridge Mutual and Polkainsure IOD's but no luck. If you look at the past conversion rates and see how much some of those projects are worth now, you would be so lucky to get a spot.

no it isn't, it's going to be forgotten much faster than eos was. This is the last bubble that includes any ethereum killers because ethereum scales via rollups this year.
Nobody uses Polkadot in particular, less than 10k transactions per day, total number of transactions ever is about half of what ethereum does in a day. It's a joke.

>> No.26066596

>>26066234
Scaling via rollups is literally the only possible way to scale in a decentralized manner. If it doesn't work on ethereum it's not going to work elsewhere, which means global decentralized blockchain is simply not possible.
Polkadot by itself is a very poor version of eth2 - only hundreds of validators at most, and a very dumb system of auctioning access to shards (which means shards can simply die if they don't bid enough in the future - good luck trusting that). It doesn't do anything better.

Isn't this good for the token price?

Imagine big projects betting to get YOUR PRECIOUS DOT token to get a place on Polkadot.

Plus it's not uncapped like ETH, with only 1 billion as max supply.

It's true capitalism, the survival for the fittest.

Nobody is going to trust anything on a network that can just disappear if someone else outbids their parachain slot. The whole idea is retarded.
>It's true capitalism, the survival for the fittest.
Again, nobody is using polkadot. It's not a new story, last bubble had several ethereum killers that pumped a lot too.

>> No.26067144

Well, if they will be outbidded from the network by somebody else, it means that there is no interest on the project to be on Polkadot but other more interesting and stronger projects are more valuable than theirs. How is it difficult to grasp that concept?

That's what I meant by survival to the fittest.

And their network won't be killed, it will survive it's just they won't be able to access "Polkadot highways" to communicate with other chains.

Which is literally what we are already having now with all networks.
