For all the shit it gets, it's clear to me that ETH2 is the future.
>sharding laying the groundwork for putting much more "dumb" data on chain
>multiple execution engines enabled by this will allow tons of novel schemes to be built on the chain
>with no preferred execution env, any new engine from other L1s can be easily ported
>new technology assimilated with no base layer changes
>the creation of a mimblewimble environment gives a solid privacy network within ethereum, likely to make monero and zcash irrelevant
>optimism rollup increasing throughput
>several zk rollup schemes in development
>connext solving the L2 composability issue by building a universal L2 swap architecture
Meanwhile the current generation ETH killers are all accruing more an more technical debt by adding native feature gimmicks, features that will have to be supported forever, causing integration problems when new research and technology appears.

Or you could just buy AVAX - that works now.

>the creation of a mimblewimble environment
mw is utter trash, aztec is launching full anonymous and private transfers very soon. The best part is that each transfer is only going to be 6k gas.

agree with the rest

Mimblewimble was merely an example, the main idea is that one can easily spin up a privacy environment because of the ETH2 archtecture of being execution environment agnostic.

the initial launch date was Dec 2020 but it got delayed, apparently very close to launch

How much is this compared to a regular transfer? I checked some txs on etherscan and they're 21k, are they batching transactions?

>> No.26030785

>>26030708
those transfers are inside the zkrollup.
Token transfers are about 40k although it depends. Eth transfers are 21k.

Pretty cool. I hope the rollups take off, the main issue seems to be to get people in. Hopefully metamask starts supporting some of the main rollups, that would help immensely with onboarding.

aztec is definitely going to take off because of anonymity.

Doesn’t matter, we have DOT anyways.

Have they solved the IP linking part of the equation, maybe by integrating tor? Nobody is going to trust a centralized operator unless they're private on that end too. and again, metamask integration would be sweet, hope they're in talks with them.

it's a completely separate layer, how you connect is your problem
eventually it's going to be decentralized, probably with some staking token for nodes

>your problem
A sensible default way to cover IP would certainly help.
