25999033 No.25999033 [Reply] [Original]

If I spent $3.8k on BTC when it crashed last year, I'd have 1 BTC which would now be worth $38,000. If I tried to spend $3.8K on BTC now, that would be 0.1 BTC and BTC would need to 10x to $380,000 per fucking coin for me to get a measly $38,000.

How is this not the top? It is getting exponentially harder for the average joe to make any money investing in this. The higher BTC price, the more priced out average joe is. Seems like it's all very rich people gambling on it now passing this around as a hot potato waiting until the bubble pops.

I heard some people say "eventually sites will list it as sats not BTC". WTF, even if you list it as sats BTC still needs to pump mega hard for the value of a sat to change signifnicantly.

This is the top. I'm selling. Bye. $300k for me.

Imagine just saving up money to buy X Sats when you could’ve been buying sats all along with a percentage of your savings since Jan 1st 2020. Someone tell me how much you BTC you’d have if you bought $500 worth of BTC on a monthly basis, I’d guess close to 1 full BTC.

You're right. The only ways left for Bitcoin to have massive gains are A) blatant fraud or B) it actually takes over the 6000 year old gold market.
Neither of those are possibilities I want to bet on. Even if it were getting me a profit I'd be too stressed out checking prices and relevant news every two seconds to enjoy it.

Read his post again. He literally used a fractional BTC example.
The existence of fractional BTC doesn't mean you can't get priced out. If you can only by a tiny fraction now and the whole coin price is already peaking then you won't get any significant returns by buying now.
Same as the difference between buying Coca-Cola shares during the 1980s vs. buying Coca-Cola shares today.
i.e. The reason small cap indexes exist.

>> No.25999561

>>25999269
OP here. You misunderstood my post. This is more a criticism of buying partial BTC and how little profit you get doing that. So if someone bought 0.1 BTC right now, the market cap needs to 10x going to approximately $10T. That's JUST for someone who put a measly $3800 to get 0.1 BTC to make a profit of $38000.

Now imagine someone who couldn't even afford 0.1 BTC right now but DCA'd now for a few years until BTC reaches $380,000 per coin. He'll have something shitty like $20,000 worth of BTC, not close to $38,000. DCA on BTC when it pumps give meager returns.

>> No.25999596

>>25999386
Ah I see. But it still seems like a great investment. If btc is to capture golds marketcap which people believe it will it’s still a 20x from here. So there are gains to be made and since it’s fractional you can’t get “priced out” the only thing that can happen is you have faith of it being a good investment

No shit your money doesn’t go as far. There’s a limited upside to every asset, nothing can just grow forever at the same rate linearly, eventually the asset slows down as the market total needs to grow in order to keep up. That’s the whole point of being priced out. Savvy investors get in early when the possibility for gains are at its highest

>> No.25999920

Also that is why we have the altseason, where money is taken from people who cant afford 1 whole bitcoin and tend to buy other shitcoins looking for the next 10-100X

I would agree with you if so many institutions weren't buying in and the liquid supply weren't being bought up.

>inb4 no institutions are buying, it's fake news to drive the price up

Institutions don't necessarily have to buy bitcoin directly, but rather go through investments like Grayscale and MicroStrategy. Grayscale published a report showing over 90% of their stocks are being bought by institutions.

On top of that, the lightning network will give it spending power, and thus make it more appealing.
