DOTs have zero-sum tokenomics. All the rewards from the token are from inflating the supply. The only thing the token is needed for is parachain leasing or auctions. We have 12 billion dollars in DOTs anticipating the demand for the auctions are going to be huge.

Excuse me, but have you read the white papers of the Rust teams building on Substrate? They are not interested in buying DOTs. They've stated they're just going to offset the risk and inflation loss of holding the token to current DOT holders.

Rust engineers are the only individuals from a demand side equation who needs to own DOTs. Anyone who interacts with any protocol on Polkadot does not need to own DOTs.

Staking DOTs as a node validator are zero sum tokenomics. No value is being created. It's the same as a food governance token - "Stake your DOTs and we'll inflate the protocol by 10% and give you a share of the tokens." The value generated is equal to the value lost from inflating the token.

The only value that can come in the Polkadot ecosystem is from Rust engineers who need to buy the token and eat the inflation from holding it over a long period of time. Anyone who has done their homework would have read that most, if not all of the teams on Substrate, have no intention of holding or purchasing the token when the auctions begin. They plan on offsetting the risk to current DOT holders.
