This company never should have ipoed two decades ago.
It should have stayed in research stages funded with private equity instead of trying to hit numbers but incubators didn't exist back then. The management is shit but the tech platform is potentially a 10 bagger.

Basically a lot of the molecules that we use are expensive and hard to get conventionally, but AMRS has a tech platform to engineer yeast to poop it out after you feed it sugar. Think like certain RNA molecules, THC and Morphine.

So they've been at this for about two decades, and their tech has been getting better and better but the market looks at the company and sees a company that makes hand lotions.Other up and coming synthetic biology companies like Demetrix (former amrs employees)and gingko bioworks have been getting funding at much higher valuations.
