Anything higher than that and the company has too high bankruptcy risk, many an investor has blindly bought into "le highest dividend stocks" and went broke. See: SDRL for just one example I remember clearly from /biz. Keep working, you need at least $400,000 in capital to retire from dividends alone. At least you are way ahead of the average person and that 27k will grow nicely @ 8-25% a year (remember to click reinvest dividends)
