edge.network is worth keeping an eye on. It's been through a rough past year in terms of it's coin but the technology is moving forward. I have a bunch of nodes running on it as a hobby more than anything else. If they can deliver, and their politics don't get in the way, it's a promising alternative.

I'm interested in Holochain.
I have always wanted a tool that allows nodes in a P2P network to contribute disk space to a shared directory, with 20% redundancy (ie if 19% of the nodes go offline, consumers can still access all the files).
Say a youtube channel with 50 TB of content is going to be deleted, and fans want to archive it. It's hard for any one person to spare that much space, but the fans collectively have more than enough.
Is this kind of app possible with Holochain?
