objectively 6 figure hell is better, simply because more money = better.
However, it doesn't really play out like that. 6 figure hell is much more taxing on your psyche.

When you have a couple grand or a couple dozen grand, small daily movements are a couple hundred bucks a day at most. Not that big of a deal. When you're in six figure hell, you're seeing rapid 5-figure swings in your portfolio daily. It's much more nerve-racking, and you feel the need to check the charts more often, rather than just forgetting about it and checking occassionally

Plus there's the whole issue that while six-figits is good money, it's still not quite enough to buy a house and retire on. So you have the stress of all these unrealized gains, but still living like a poorfag with no liquidity

6 is worse if you let it be, it's hard to fight. I'm at half a million now so I'm the fucking mayor of six-figure hell, right in the middle. It hurts because it's a meaningful amount of money. If you hold through a crash, you're an idiot and will regret it forever, but same if you sell too early and could have been a millionaire. I'd have two million if I'd flipped my link for BTC at the last 20$ peak. Stings.

BUT, on the other hand, if you can give your head a shake a zoom out, six figure hell is actually great. You're really close to making it, it's an actual possibility not just a distant dream, and you can pour effort into strategizing about buys and sells to manage your risk. On good days, it feels like making it is absolutely inevitable.

It's going to be strange to see Link reach new records and not know what to do.
I am still struggling to imagine the new future Link created for us.
It's as if it didn't happen.
I continued to live a normal life as if this money didn't exist in order to not be affected by it outside of the life crisis it caused. But we will have to accept this new reality soon.

>>25756889
My original goal was to try to reach $5 million and if possible try to get closer to $10 million.
However that was before seeing all the new developments and future possibilities.
I will have to make my decisions dynamically based on the project expectations and Link valuations in the future.
The only thing I could now buy if I decide to sell a small amount of my stack would be silver or gold, but the expectations of ROI are much smaller than with Link.
It's funny but we can never cash out, and if staking goes live we won't have to.

https://www.investopedia.com/articles/markets/020916/if-you-had-invested-right-after-berkshire-hathaways-ipo-brka.asp

>In the 1990's, Donald and Mildred Othmer were an unassuming couple living in New York City, having been married for over 40 years. Donald was a professor of chemical engineering at what was then called the Polytechnic University in Brooklyn, now the NYU Tandon School of Engineering. He was distinguished in the field of chemical engineering, with a large number of patents and a business doing consulting. Mildred was a retired school teacher and active volunteer at Brooklyn Botanic Garden and Planned Parenthood. When the childless couple died in their 90's, Donald in 1995, and Mildred in 1998, they donated their money to a number of charities, such as the Long Island College Hospital in Brooklyn, the University of Nebraska, and Polytechnic in Brooklyn. Each of donations totaled over $100 million, with the couple's combined estates worth approximately $750 million.
>The source of their wealth was the $25,000 each had invested with Warren Buffett, a family friend, in the early 1960's. They received Berkshire Hathaway stock at $42 a share in 1970. The Othmers had kept their money invested, slowly adding to it, even as others in their family withdrew their money. The Othmers stayed in for the long haul, and were a staggeringly successful example of the sort of long-term investing that Buffett always preached the value of.

It's best to wait until the price stabilizes and not when a FOMO happens or you are going to see your investment slowly drop in price until the next surge happens.
But this is more an investment approach.
For an experimented speculator who can optimize and greatly reduce his taxes on trades, it's possible to buy when certain patterns of a new breakout happen and sell before the mania dissipates in lower time frames. But this is really hard with cryptos as it uses a 4h time frame and you need a lot of experience...

>> No.25758879

Anon, you need to spend the time and sit down with either a lawyer, financial advisor, or someone with legit experience with small-med sized assets. Risk management is as important as not losing your mind and splurging on cocaine and lambos.
Given increasing world unrest (lol and you thought 2021 would be better) crypto might be safe for some time but don't be "that guy" who had it all and lost it because he sat on something too long.
IIRC it's something like 5 million to get enough passive income to live comfortably in the average US town, but who knows how that would change once the USD starts to inflate.

Yeah I'm just some pleb with a 4 figure account atm but the way you win is getting cash at the end- until it's in your bank account, it's somewhere between nothing and numbers on a screen, ya know?

Thanks for the advice.
I spent the last 2 years preparing for this, making plans for cashing out, learning wealth management and a bit trading.
This would be the reason to sell a small part of my stack depending on the future Link valuation in order to have a diversification of risk in case of an extremely unlikely event which causes me to lose my main investment.

Ray Dalio's all weather portfolio was the original investment strategy I was planning to use with some small modifications.
The current issue however is that we are living the end of an empire, and capital controls may soon happen if the western governments try to prevent the $ and € from dying too quickly.
As such the debt part of this portfolio would have to be replaced by one of an emerging country or ignored until a new currency appears.
There is also a similar risk for stocks to crash either in $ value or through accelerated inflation.
Which leaves only gold, silver, or similar investments and stocks related to it.
This is really a strange time to experience and it's understandable why BTC is going up so quickly.
Cryptos are unironically the safest asset to keep at this moment and the hardest for the state to steal.

It's hard to tell when a correction would happen, but looking a the current Link chart we may see a new breakout in a few days or weeks which could push Link to $30 or $40. It depends on what happens to BTC and if it will see a correction.
I am currently in europe and looking for an exit out of this technocratic hell.

You missed the philosophy behind this story.
What we really need is financial security in order to do what we love and are meant to do.
For some it might turn out that they like their current work and then can enjoy it to the fullest without fear of losing their job if they do it the way they like it without fear for the consequences.
The Othmer couple found something far more valuable than money and the beauty of a simple and fulfilling life shouldn't be ignored.
Wealth is only a tool that can be used to make things easier and to buy time.
However it can't buy your life meaning by itself.

Sounds like you're well ahead of things. The end of empire stuff is hard to predict, and I don't know what it means specifically when it comes to finance. Neither does anyone else, I could give a list of possible "good" hedges but even then it's a hard call. Mountains of gold aren't a good solution either- it's not easily converted into other assets, and unless you plan on shaving your gold bars for food in the future, imo a pretty poor choice.

I look at the google trends data, and we're nowhere near peak trends despite reaching new ATH's every week. It's strange.

What you're saying here may appear to be nothing more than a simpering platitude to some of the people on this board, but it's an incredibly important thing to internalize for those who don't want to fall into the trap that material wealth can set for them. It's perfectly acceptable to have a different set of values than this couple, and maybe even to scoff at where all that money ended up going - what's important is that they were in control of their personal relationship to their material means - this is what it means to make it.

This is just the start of the crypto bull market.
Nobody can predict what valuation the crypto space can reach in the near future.

Buying mining stocks and some other better targeted investments could be a way to remove some of the risks of only holding gold and silver.
But the world changes so quickly it's hard to make a good future proof plan without having to adapt it.

You should read Ray Dalio's Principles book:
